My work is an attempt to express the electronic `overload` and media bombardment of our age, and I have therefore purposefully created crowded -- but hopefully coherent -- images that might act as an analogue for that daily barrage to which we are now all subjected. The crowding also counters the minimalism -- or absence of anything much (or at all) to look at -- in a good deal of contemporary art. In order to further my aims I have evolved a visual vocabulary which draws upon computer circuits, electrical patternings, electronic wave motion, neon-lighting effects, and the like. I think I can confidently claim that no other painters are addressing the overload that concerns me, or are approximating my visual language.
